All Adventurous Girls Do: Jessa Johansson

Every week I'm going to try and talk about a style inspiration of mine and how to grab some pieces to emulate such a look.

This week is none other than the adventurous girl herself Jessa Johansson from HBO's Girls, who is played by the wonderful Jemima Kirke.

She embodies the whole carefree-but -I still look put together while strutting down the street look. Costume designer Jenn Rogien is definitely making me rethink my wardrobe for this fall. Whether she's going to a warehouse party or holding her own surprise party which turns out to be a wedding; girl is always dressed for the occasion. Damn the internet for not giving me all the reference photos I need for this, but I'll do the best I can.

Who thought that kimono robes could be worn outside the house? Seriously though, it's paired with a messy bun and barely there makeup which makes it an attention getter.

When we first meet Jessa her look is very understated with boho influences. Her cowboy hat, plum jacket and scarf all make an effortless look but as the season goes on it becomes so eclectic.

One of my favorite outfits of hers includes the floral palazzo pants from Zara that are unfortunately sold out.

Then there's her wedding attire. A floral head wreath and a short white crochet dress is so perfect for a wild child wedding. It only made me want to get married like that.

So Jessa has definitely picked up on certain trends for fall that include the western look, continuation of florals from spring and the pajama as streetwear with a fabulous kimono robe or jacket.

Musings and stuff to come darlings.

So yesterday I took a trip to my local mall and while stopping at the Chik Fil A, I saw a girl with the most laid back style. Her outfit was literally everything I've wanted for the past three months and I've been kicking myself all day for not getting her picture.

She was wearing a kimono jacket, a plain t-shirt, dark trousers, and smoking loafers. Her accessories were minimal for she had a gold spiked cuff watch and post earrings. When I tell you that look was effortless. Just bliss.

I had planned to make a video today but my house is seriously full and chaotic so hopefully tomorrow it'll be up. Expect posts on recent purchases, my top ten style inspirations, and some DIY projects I'll be working on.

In the meantime if you want to get in touch with me or have some fashionable inquiries you can contact me three ways:

A guide to summer sales: Go wild

To continue our foray into summer sales territory, we're going to go crazy. Animal and tribal prints are new to me. I personally hate animal prints and I think they're quite tacky when they involve colored cheetah prints etc. But these are lovely and they continue my love affair with ASOS'S sale section.

For those of us going off to college for the first time or even if you're returning, a messenger bag is a must. Plus who doesn't adore cute bird prints?

If you're looking for a tribal bohemian look that can hold all of your essentials for your day to day, this crossbody is your savior.
Park Lane

In today's age of cell phones many of us just glance at them to check the time. A watch has now become a statement, a fashion accessory, and yes it still can tell time. Get equestrian with this horse print (less than fifteen dollars!)

This sweet birdcage dress is way up there on my want list, it's so precious.

A guide to summer sales: prints!

I absolutely adore prints especially for about every season but winter. I both love and hate this time of year because there are amazing sales going on and alas I usually am broke. But today I'm going to compile some of the cutest and best sales on prints!
I'll start with florals first because I absolutely love them.
Asos has a wonderful plus sized brand that is aptly called "Curve" and here is a playsuit I hope to scoop up before the month is out:
Playsuit In Tropical Print

This satchel with a snakeskin texture is a wonderful surprise, with the tan buckle to give a vintage feel.
ASOS Satchel

I've been aching to get my hands on a pair of floral Docs and these are cheaper on Amazon!
Doc Martens 1480 originals

Lastly floral pants! I've been looking for a pair similar to the ones Jessa's character on Girls wears in one of the episodes but when I found them on Zara they were gone. Lucky for me, I found some just as stylish.

Next up I'll be doing tribal/animal prints, keep your eyes pealed and stay adventurous.
xoxo.

Hello!

Hi guys, my name is Maya and this is basically a blog for me to dump all of my collective feelings about fashion and style.

I'll be blogging about sales, my personal finds, and once I get a decent Nikon or Canon my personal style. I'll also be blogging about my personal struggle to lose weight and become healthier too occasionally.

so yay!
